Event venues and presentation equipment is available for hire. 

Conference hall maximum capacity 70 persons (73,3 m2). Presentation equipment for hire (PC, projector, speakers, microphone). Minimal hire – 1 hour.

We offer guided tours and lectures on nature and environmental protection.

Tours are guided by a museum educator or a specialist in the respective field.

Tours lasts from 45 to 60 minutes. We also offer an extended tour (up to 90 minutes) for more in-depth exploration of the subject.

The maximum number of persons per group is 30.

We offer tours in Latvian, Russian and English.

For families

There are 15 permanent exhibitions open to public, many of which hold various tangible materials, interactive games and audiovisual information. 

Most of information is provided in Latvian, however in each exhibition hall there is a printed guide in English and Russian. Guide holder is located at the entrance in the exhibition.

What it is the Latvian Museum of Natural History?

The Latvian Museum of Natural History collects, preserves, and studies Latvian and world nature collections. On certain days the museum is open to public. 

What to do at the museum?

Various rocks, minerals, fossils, stuffed animals, insects, plants and fungi are showcased at the museum. There are plenty of interactive games in the exhibition halls, visitors can touch different nature objects, and listen to bird songs.

Research

The museum's research work is one of the most important facets of the museum; it manifests in the study of the natural environment of Latvia, in the processing and development of collections, in the creation of new exhibitions, and in providing environmental education. The museum's specialists are involved in the implementation of both local and international projects, as well as in the provision of educational and communication programmes of international conventions.
