International Cooperation

The Latvian National Museum of Natural History is a Scientific Authority ratified by the Washington Convention (CITES), and works to raise awareness on the country’s wetland status as stipulated by the Ramsar Convention.

The Latvian National Museum of Natural History is a member of the International Council of Museums, and a member of the Latvian Museum Association.

The museum’s specialists participate in the activities of several professional associations and organisations: the European Council for the Conservation of Fungi (ECCF), both the Estonian and Finnish Lepidopterist Societies, the Entomological Society of Latvia, the Botanist Association of Latvia, the Mycologist Association of Latvia, the Malacologist Association of Latvia, the Association for the Study of Swans in Latvia, and more.
