On the occasion of its 180th anniversary, the Latvian National Museum of Natural History has received a remarkable gift from the Natural History Museum in London: 20 tropical beetle specimens representing 16 species from South America and Southeast Asia.

We would like to express our gratitude to the Natural History Museum and especially to Mr. Maxwell V.L. Barclay, Senior Curator in Charge, Coleoptera. A special thanks to Latvian scientist, entomologist of the Natural History Museum, Dmitrijs Telnovs, who personally presented the gift to Dmitrijs Boiko, Head of the Zoology Department of the Latvian National Museum of Natural History, on December 5 in Riga.

These new specimens will enhance the museum’s entomological collection, which currently contains 101,000 items.
